Rathfriland Motor Club Ltd meetings 2009

We would like to issue an open invitation to everyone interested in Motorsport to attend our Club meetings if they feel that they would like to contribute to the running of our events and to the Club during 2009.

As I’m sure you are aware, each event requires a lot of effort to bring everything together, and we would welcome anyone who would like to get involved at whatever level they feel confident at.

Rathfriland MC prides itself in that it operates a very open membership and committee, where everyone can have their say and voice their opinions and ideas without fear of contradiction. This way of thinking has ensured that Rathfriland MC now run some of the best events within the various ANICC NI Championships during the year, and in some cases we have set the standards for other events to follow. But like everything else in life, there is always room for improvement and new thinking.

As you may also know, Rathfriland Motor Club ltd has been awarded the JLT/MSA UK Motor Club of the Year for 2008 and to build on this award, we intend to develop a more social side to the Club to tie in with our calendar of events and we plan to recognise the role played by the volunteer marshals and officials during the season. We also plan to offer everyone the opportunity to shadow senior event officials during the year to show what is involved in event organisation.

Rathfriland MC also has a strong representation within the Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs (ANICC) and we are now getting to the point were we are able to help shape the future of Motor Sport in the province.

As an example of this, several of our committee members have put themselves forward to help restart, and have been instrumental in bringing back the old NI Clubman Championship, when the new Pacenotes supported ANICC 2wd Rally Challenge kicked off at Kirkistown in January 2009.

So if you would like to come along and see what is involved, the Club meets every first Wednesday of the month at 8pm in the Old George in Rathfriland, and we will be glad to see you all.

If you would like further information contact the Club Secretary, Paul Biggerstaff on 07753846734 of paul.biggerstaff@rathfrilandmotorclub.com
