Modern
Tyres Mourne Rally takes to the roads!
The Newry and District Motor Club have revealed, the popular
Mourne Rally will take to the roads this year for the fifth
round of the Northern Ireland Rally Championship on 5th June.
At
the recent press launch the organising committee also announced,
they secured a further three years sponsorship from Modern Tyre
Service. Des O’Loan commented,
“It
is great to have Rory Byrne on board again, as without sponsorship;
events like this would simply not be possible”
The
rally will consist of 9 special stages totalling to approximately
80 competitive miles, including three runs over a lengthened
Sleeve Gullion test. The remaining stages will be held on closed
roads previously used by the Circuit of Ireland Rally in the
Newtownhamilton area.
It
is also important to outline that HANS Devices are NOT required
for this event, reducing costs for many competitors. Regulations
and Entry Forms are now available on the Newry and District
Motor Club’s website, www.nadmc.net
