Martin McCormack will debut his newly built Citroen C2 Max on St. Patricks weekend at the West Cork Rally, in Clonakilty. The C2 Max was his prize for winning the 2008 Irish Citroen C2 Cup, and has been painstakingly built up over the winter by Citroen expert John McKillop and Marty's usual team of helpers.
All eyes are on the car as currently it is the only C2 Max in Ireland, and with more power and torque, improved handling due to better suspension adjustment it will be interesting to see just what results can be obtained as a consequence of the extensive development and upgrades from the R2 car.
As well as contesting rounds of the Irish C2 Championship, the team will also contest the 2009 British Rally Championship again, where upwards of 5 Citroen C2 Max's will be out on the rallies.
Liam Moynihan from Millstreet, Co. Cork will navigate on the Irish rounds and for the British Championship, Marty will be joined by the vastly experienced Phil Clark from Church Stretton in Shropshire.
Besides contesting the Irish and British Rallies, the MSA Rally Academy member hopes to be in a position to contest at least 2 events in Belgium & France before the end of the season. All this would not be possible without the enthusiastic support of the loyal sponsors and partners who continue to support the team. A new range of Marty McCormack clothing is also being launched and supporters of the team will be able to buy on the website shortly.
Martin would like to take this opportunity to thank, Outdoor Services, Millers Oils, Carella, Ace Fixings, PPP Salvage Auctions, TFR Refrigeration and all the other people who contribute in any way.
Regular updates on Marty's progress throughout the year can be obtained from the website.
